Just wanted to say big congratulations to our New Years Eve bride and grooms today, Mr & Mrs Spill and Mr & Mrs Catley who were married at 12.30 today.

Mr & Mrs Spill had re-arranged their wedding date three times and also celebrated their ten year anniversary of being together today, wow! The bride looked absolutely amazing with her daughter looking the beautiful little princess and young son a handsome prince!! Husband looked good too by the way!

Bride's mum arranged for the flags to be used for the car decorations together with 'bride' and 'groom' umbrellas too! Please see a couple of our own photographs taken on the day too.

I believe the couple will be spending their honeymoon night at a surprise local hotel...sshh!!

Friday, 30 December 2011 - Kate and Tom's Wedding

Collected Kate and her father from The Stables, accommodation located away from the main Grittleton House School yet within the grounds and equipped to sleep eighteen people no less!

We travelled today to St. Mary's church at Bathwick Hill and was delighted to meet the vicar of the parish for the first time today, a charming and jolly gentlemen who had obviously got to know our couple well over the past six months.

The lovely Robert Skidmore Photography was with us today and both Kate and Tom had nothing but praise and admiration for him, making them feel relaxed throughout the day, and Robert has promised to forward some of his amazing photos shortly for me to pass on to all of you reading my blog. We travelled via Batheaston to and from the wedding to avoid traffic on the London Road in Bath, and it was nice to be granted free passage over the toll bridge on both occasions today, many thanks!!

As Kate and Tom enjoyed romantic walks through Castle Combe we drove through the village en route to Grittleton House, where Robert managed to take some photographs with the car before we departed.

Car heater on full today with blanket throw, fur wrap and hand muff also in use as such a wet and cold blustery day today, thank goodness for our ivory golf umrellas too!!

Congratulations to Kate and Tom, enjoy your couple of days away before starting back at school as teachers, and have a great time on honeymoon in the summer!!

Castle Combe Manor House

Based in Dubai, it was a pleasure to be involved in Joanna and Robert's wedding on Wednesday at The Manor House in Castle Combe.

Accompanied by David McGirr Photography based in Warminster, the couple enjoyed some great photos with the car outside the venue after their ceremony.

Arriving for pre-wedding shots too, both the groom and bestmen and also the bride and bridesmaids savoured the rather chilly weather for some shots with the car before the event, very impressed!!

As daylight was against us, we managed to include a local tour for the couple to enjoy some quality time together and to also sample and savour their half bottle of Bollinger champagne in the car too!!

How magical the Manor House looked as we came across the bridge towards the house with their christmas lights and the glow of the rooms!

Laura and Callum's Wedding on Friday, 23 December 2011

There is something very special about a castle set in beautiful grounds with a sweeping driveway...and Clearwell Castle never disappoints! We were privileged to attend the wedding of Laura and Callum with their lovely families last Friday with their ceremony at All Saints Church in nearby Newland.

So pleased we now have two ivory golf umbrellas onboard each car as we definetely needed them today!

We received a call from Martin last week who wanted to surprise his lovely sister, Shelley and fiance Paul with something they would never forget!! So, just as the happy couple came out of their ceremony at Tracy Park last Friday, 23 December as Mr & Mrs Allen there was an ivory wedding car waiting for them.

Although the weather was wet, they still managed to have some photographs taken with the car and then enjoyed a local tour together in the wedding car for them to catch up on all the events that morning!

The Grange Hotel in Winterbourne has recently become a Mercure hotel and they were advertising their superb venue on the whole page with two of our beauties photographed within the grounds.

As a preferred supplier for this venue we are regularly attending weddings there and this particular photograph was taken by Chris from Mango photography.

Update on Recent Wedding Fayres

Attended two wedding fayres yesterday and really lovely to meet some 'getting married' couples at both the Assembly Rooms in Bath and at the Open Day at Chewton Place. The sun was shining during part of the day and that always creates a smile when our hoods are down on the cars so no exception yesterday! Not as many brides as would have liked at the Assembly Rooms but did meet some wonderful couples nontheless. Busy, busy at Chewton Place around lunchtime and during the afternoon and dates reserved for both 2012 and also 2013 from the Open Day here.

We have many dates now full for the summer of 2012 with well over 100+ reservations already.

Lots of interest also for 2013 too with almost double figures already reserved for this year too!

Looking forward to a busy time!!!

We are delighted to announce that we will be attending the 'Vintage in the Park Wedding Fayre' to celebrate the grand opening of Old Down Manor as a wonderful new wedding venue following its £5 million refurbishment. The elegant 19th century Manor House is set within 60 acres of countryside near Alveston, on Foxholes Lane in Tockington, BS32 4PG.

I have received some wonderful photographs from Bob this week from Regent Wedding Photography at http://www.regentweddingphotography.co.uk and just had to share them with you all!!

We were together at Julie and James's wedding at Leigh Court, Abbots Leigh on Sunday, 21 August 2011, and what a lovely couple.

We all enjoyed a leisurely journey from the couples home in Longwell Green to the prestiguous Leigh Court, a venue I am very familiar with as I was also married there.

Photos were enjoyed outside this beautiful venue with their wedding car.

Before setting off for the Clifton Suspension Bridge, we popped open a half bottle of Bollinger champagne for the couple to enjoy together.

As you can see another sunny day with lots of spectators at the bridge with the couple creating quite a stir!!

Having spent many years providing wedding photography Bob has had a couple of years out of the business to spend some time with his family. Lucy & Lawrence's Wedding - Rookery Manor - 3 September 2011

With weddings like these I have to justify being paid for my job!! What an amazing family and what a WOW wedding!!

Lucy looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful white wedding dress, with the neighbours out to see her off on her big day from her parents home in Whitchurch it was a true spectacle. We enjoyed a leisurely drive with father of the bride on board to Rookery Manor near Weston Super Mare with light hearted conversation and laughter enjoyed by all.

The venue looked wonderful too and we enjoyed some photographs with Matt from Clearly Bespoke Photography before the ceremony on our arrival at the venue, as above.

As you can see a lovely sunny day with the hood taken down whilst the couple were getting married for photos with the bride and groom after they were married. These must be some of my favourite photographs ever!

We were a little disappointed that one company at today's wedding fayre gave great delight in showing couples 'there range of cars' parked outside the Wedding World Wedding Fayre at the Bristol Marriott Hotel which included one of mine!!!

We would like to assure all couples that there are only three ivory 1930's vintage style convertibles based in Bristol and they all belong to Englands Finest Cars!

All our cars come complete with traditionally uniformed lady chauffeuse and onboard accessories such as an ivory faux fur bridal wrap and hand muff, mints and tissues.

Kiwa and Neil were a truly amazing couple - such fun to be with and genuinely warm people.

They met at St. Christophers House in Redland and both are involved in social services, in fact we drove them back to this venue on their wedding day for some photographs!

When we collected Kiwa the rain was pouring down so hard we virtually had to run to the car, but the sunshine eventually came out and we managed to have the hood down on the cars for a short time, until it came back!!

Smashing couple!! Lisa looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful wedding dress that fitted her like a glove! Travelling from home in Winterbourne to the very popular Compass Inn at Tormarton we enjoyed some super sunshine but just as we arrived at the venue the story changed and the heavens opened. Didn't spoil the wedding day though, and Andy and Lisa were able to have some photos with the car and afterwards some 'private' shots in the gardens at the venue too, and the Orangery looked wonderful for their wedding breakfast. What a beautiful day for a wedding, especially as the bride's mother was one of our girls who chauffeurs so many other bride's to their wedding. Here you can see Michelle involved in driving the bridesmaids to the wedding too!!

Emily looked absolutely wonderful in her designer gown with flowers by Claire at 1st Choice Flowers and it was a real pleasure to be a part of her big day. Travelling from her mothers home in St. George with bridesmaids in the second car we took the leisurely route to The Ramada Grange in Winterbourne where they were all met by Val, the Wedding Organiser at the hotel, great lady!!

After the ceremony, we took Emily and her husband Jon for a tour around Winterbourne before returning to the grounds of the hotel for further photographs. Great shots provided here by Mango photography at the hotel and some lovely photos captured on camera by Cheryl a friend of the family as we were leaving the house.

We were privileged last Friday to have a family of welsh choir members onboard and how lovely they all were!! The bride herself sang in a choir as did both her mother and father and apparently no ordinary choir, the best!! Our couple were so lucky with the weather last Saturday when they were married at the pretty village church, St. Thomas A Becket, in Pucklechurch, no showers! Following the ceremony here we travelled with them onto the prestigious Tracy Park Golf Club in Wick where Becky, their chauffeuse, took the hood down just before driving around to the main entrance at the manor house to arrive in style! A real pleasure to be a part of this family's wedding today held at Eastwood Park in Falfield. Sarah looked absolutely gorgeous in her beautiful wedding dress and the bridesmaids were in a lovely 'hot' pink theme with little Grace having little pink flowers on her shoes to match the flower on her dress, such a cutie!! On the way from their home in Hambrook the heavens opened and we had a complete downpour for the best part of the journey, but they say the sun shines on the righteous and so it did just in time for the newlyweds to have some 'private' photographs within the grounds with the car. At last!! When the groom decides to surprise the bride by booking a wedding car it doesn't help when the couple have to postpone the wedding by a year due to the arrival of tiny feet! This was no exception yesterday as the wedding was originally planned to take place in May 2010. What a pleasure to see the lovely Luke marry his gorgeous bride Zoe at St. Ambrose church in Whitehall yesterday. She looked absolutely stunning in her cream lace overlay dress and numerous bridesmaids in powder blue not forgetting two little flower girls one of them being their daughter Phoenix who was a little star!! Having chosen surely one of the warmest days of the year, Rachel and Marc enjoyed a beautiful sunny day for their wedding last Friday at the pretty village church in Compton Martin, a first time here for us and definitely a real treat dating back to the norman times. Nicki and Andrew's Wedding & Church Blessing

We were privileged to be a part of both the marriage and church blessing of Nicki and Andrew, such a truly lovely couple. Leaving their home in Yate we travelled to Poole Court for the ceremony and then continued onto St. John the Baptist Church in Old Sodbury for the wedding blessing. Such a wonderful atmosphere here with beautiful music as they walked up the aisle together, very moving. Disappointing

For the first time in over fifteen years, we were unable to fulfil our comittment yesterday and continue to our final destination / reception venue with the bride and groom as planned, which was disappointing for both myself and the couple.

It emphasises how important the relationship is between the photographer and the wedding car hire company and that if there are any 'specific requirements' above and beyond the norm that both parties need to be made aware of them prior to the wedding. After all, we are working as a team to ensure all runs smoothly on the day for the benefit of the bride and groom.

On this occasion the father of the groom had reserved the car and with only a short timespan to the wedding was offered a very special rate which included as always a maximum half hour stop-off at a further location with the bride and groom before arriving at the reception venue, at no additional cost. The Clifton Suspension Bridge was suggested and agreed at the time of reservation.

However, plans had been put in place prior to my knowledge for the photographer to take specific photographs at three further locations in addition to Clifton Suspension Bridge with the bride and groom, bridesmaids and bestman after the photographs at the church. The period mentioned was for 'at least an hour' which probably means an hour and a half minimum in photography terms. Unfortunately, we were not aware of these further locations or timescales involved and subsequently had not included them in our journey plan or costings. The couple continued onto the three further locations with the photographers and their car.

We are always happy to be involved in any specific requirements but we do need to be made aware of them prior to the wedding.

Paul & Nelsi's Wedding and their great friend Nicki!!

Some couples have such lovely friends and Paul and Nelsi have Nicki. As a surprise for their wedding present, Nicki came to our home and reserved one of our ivory convertible's for her friends wedding as a complete surprise. The couple thought they would catch a lift with one of their guests after they were married at The Bristol Registry Office but instead I was waiting outside with the car, sun was shining and the hood was down as instructed. To see their faces as they looked over at the car was a real treat and they thoroughly enjoyed the journey to the Aztec Hotel in Almondsbury where they were having their wedding breakfast. Toots and well wishes were in abundance as we drove up Park Street on Saturday afternoon and onto Whiteladies Road and Henleaze. Congratulations to the happy couple and a big thank you to the lovely Nicki for making my day!!

Our own Royal Wedding - Clare & Tim - Eastwood Park

We enjoyed our own Royal Wedding yesterday in Bristol - Although Clare & Tim had prebooked their wedding in May 2010 a long while before the Royal Wedding had even been planned! We collected Clare and her father from her home in Kingswood and travelled to Eastwood Park in Falfield where she married Tim at 1pm. Asked if she had watched the 'other' wedding on the television, she replied that she was 'far too busy getting ready for her own wedding to watch someone else's' !! The couple enjoyed some 'chilling out' time together in the car and returned with the hood down on the car to awaiting guests outside the venue, what a lovely day!! A rather splendid day was spent at Bath Abbey with Louise & James on their wedding day a couple of weeks ago. The sun was shining albeit a very cold wind, but hundreds of spectators watched as Louise and her very proud grandfather arrived together with her two gorgeous bridesmaids for their wedding on Friday afternoon, it had a real buzz in the air!! As you can see from the photographs, the couple really enjoyed themselves and were centre of attention for quite some time whilst the day was caught on camera in the centre of Bath. Great fun was had by all last Friday at the wedding of Emma and James. We collected the beautiful bridesmaids from the Cottage within the grounds of Kingscote Barn and travelled with them to St. Mary's Church in Wotton under Edge, and then returning for Emma, her mother and sister. Claire Dibble the harpist at www.clairedibble.co.uk was responsible for the bridal march and how lovely it was too! We then took a leisurely trip travelling with the hood down back to Kingscote Barn where refreshments were enjoyed by all. What a beautiful day for a wedding and what a wedding!!! Renee and Matt hired our entire fleet of three matching ivory convertibles for their wedding at St. John's church in Keynsham with each car having champagne to enjoy as we left the church....and all passengers were able to enjoy the sunshine with the hoods down too! After receiving several requests from brides and grooms regarding payment of deposits, we are pleased to advise all clients that deposits may now be paid over a two month period as opposed to a single payment.

Those couples wishing to reserve a single car may now pay £50.00 as an initial booking fee and a final booking fee of £50.00 may be paid the following month.

For those wishing to reserve a matching pair of cars, you may now pay a single payment of £100.00 followed by a second payment of £100.00 the following month.

All payments continue to be paid by either a cash settlement, cheque made payable to Englands Finest Cars or by debit or credit card. Debit cards are free but Cardsave charge a 1.55% fee for usage of all credit cards.

Final balances are payable by one month before the wedding and we forward a reminder to you approximately five to six weeks before the date. Alternatively, payments may be settled by a single payment or several before this time.

We hope this has helped couples in some way to alleviating the 'paying out' process which often appears to be all at the same time and all in the same month!

We very much look forward to hearing from you regarding booking your fairy tale ivory convertible for some select dates still available this year and for 2012 and beyond!

The sun shone on Saturday for Natalie and Tom's wedding at Tracy Park at Wick. I have been advised by Michelle, who was their chauffeuse, that little five year old Alfie their son gave his mum away at the alter at Marshfield Church, and when asked 'who gives this woman away' confidently replied 'I DO!' I believe Michelle could have taken Alfie home with her as he was SO cute! Sarah and Connor's wedding - Some Pre-Christmas Photos

What a lovely couple. We had the privilege of providing a matching pair of cars for Sarah and Connor's wedding on Sunday, 19 December 2010 at The Mercure Holland Hotel in Central Bristol.

As you may all recall, the snow had been falling at that time and collecting them from home was quite an achievement as the roads had not been gritted, but hey we are women and can do anything!! All the main roads were of course clear of snow which made for a very pleasant and relaxing journey to the Hotel where they were married. Great to work again with husband and wife team Reid and Tricia from Carlton Photography at www.carltonphoto.co.uk, who have provided a couple of their superb photographs of the day, many thanks. Our thanks to Sarah's father who also arranged for myself and Val to have a cup of hot coffee on the day, and may we extend our congratulations to Sarah and Connor.

College House Wedding Fayre on College Green

What a very grand venue, never actually been inside the College House before today and I must say I was very impressed.

Unfortunately, the wedding fayre was a very quiet affair and we didn't really have an opportunity to speak with many couples as not many came through to see us all!

A real shame as there were a good range of wedding services inside ranging from bridal dresses, to photographers, videographers, mother of the bride outfits, jewellery, a superb violist and several car hire companies too plus two fashion shows!

Enjoyed another wedding on Sunday at the ever popular Ramada Grange Hotel in Winterbourne with Jacqui and Dan for their marriage in the lounge at the hotel. Although it was a cold day it was bright and the sun did show itself briefly, just long enough for the couple to enjoy a lovely drive together in the car after becoming husband and wife and to have some photographs with the hood down within the grounds. Neil from A1 Photographers was present along with the lovely Ben Pope from A Perfect Memory Videography who supplied this great photo, thanks Ben a real pleasure working with you again. Unfortunately, I had to leave during the fayre due to work commitments at the Ramada Grange in Winterbourne where we provided two of our convertible's for Jacqui and Dan's wedding, lovely couple and congratulations to you both!

Great day was had by all at Sam & Adam's wedding on Saturday at St. Andrews Church in Backwell, such a lovely setting for a church albeit a little awkward for parking of cars! Dry day with some sunshine although a little cold but smile's all round as the couple enjoyed photographs at Clifton Suspension Bridge with their parents before arriving at Ashton Court Mansion for their reception venue. Great couple and apparently Adam met Sam when she was a dancer and he an actor. Enjoyed a really great day at the Guild of Professional Wedding Services Wedding Fayre today at Chewton Place in Keynsham. Very well attended with well over 100 couples and their families attending the exhibition where thirty three enthusiastic Guild members displayed their services plus a great friendly and relaxed atmosphere thrown in too!

We enjoyed live music by Liz from Lyrica and also the Bath Spa String Quartet, Entertainment Direct for the D.J. and casinos, ice sculptures, bridal bouquets and displays, photographers, videographers, balloons, wedding cakes and wedding cars and lots more!!

We were fortunate to have two fashion shows today with bridal wear from Bride at Home Boutique in Downend & Ann Harding Bridal & Menswear from Stoke Bishop plus Bakos Boutique in Westbury on Trym for the mother of the bride outfits.

Jewellery for the fashion show supplied by Ksenia Handmade Jewellery from Bath and flowers provided by Andrew from Jacaranda Flowers also in Bath.

All exhibitors were vetted and approved Guild members only who pride themselves in providing a quality and professional service.

Wedding World Wedding Fayre - 16 January 2011

We met lots of very interesting people yesterday at the largest wedding fayre in Bristol at The Marriott Hotel.......we were delighted to receive numerous reservations for this year with further deposits pending, so all very exciting!

Lots of interest and indeed deposits taken for 2012 also, including Friday's as a very keen contendor for weddings, may be this is the 'new trend!!'

This is the fifteenth year we have been exhibiting at this wedding fayre and it never disappoints with the amount of interest the wedding fayre and the exhibitors create, now with over 100 stands to look around and obtain some invaluable information.

Really lovely to meet some of my previous bride's at the show too, who were accompanying their friends who are now getting married. Great to see you all, including those who brought along their 'little one's' ......it all seems like yesterday to me!

Both myself and Liz had a very enjoyable day even though the weather changed during the afternoon to rain and high winds and we had to result in putting the hood up on the car rather swiftly!!

Colin & Paul's Civil Partnership on Saturday, 20 November 2010

We firstly collected all the ladies in the bridal party from Sharpness, near Berkeley and travelled to the very popular Eastwood Park in Falfield where the civil partnership was to be held for their son's Colin and Paul. Afterwards, we collected the boys which included Colin and Paul and their dads and travelled to the ceremony. Weather was not so great today and so hoods had to stay up for the entire wedding, but they arrived for all their guests to see before they went in to get married. A really relaxed wedding with lots of lovely guests and a real pleasure to be a part of. Photography by Jackie and her daughter who took some great relaxed shots and we look forward to receiving a couple of those from Jackie shortly. Enjoy Gambia guys and have a great honeymoon.

Once more at Priston Mill.....Collected lovely Louise, her sister and mother from her home in Redland and travelled to the wedding being held at The Water Mill in Priston. We were greeted by Eric the famous Wedding Co-ordinator (from Don't Tell the Bride!) who is extremely organised. We took Louise and Doug for a short tour to enable them to enjoy some 'together' time after the ceremony whilst the guests enjoyed some refreshments in the gardens. This great couple have four very good friends - as they all put together to reserve one of our cars as a wedding gift and as an extra special surprise we provided a small bottle of champagne with our compliments. The wedding took place at our local St. Barnabus Church and one of their good friends, Shaun, provided the photogaphy and what an excellent job he did! We have received some great news recently......

Following our many, many weddings we attend at both the Water Mill and at the Tythe Barn at Priston Mill near Marksbury, we have now been approved and included onto their Approved Suppliers List for wedding car hire.

In order to gain inclusion, a number of couples are contacted to establish the level of service provided by Englands Finest Cars on their wedding day.

This is also an ongoing approval, as the level of service is regularly checked with couples following their wedding.

We are tremendously pleased to have been accredited this achievement - thank you to all our couples and to Priston Mill.
